Blank Kokeshi Doll
I received a request to make these types of dolls. A Kokeshi doll is a Japanese wooden doll. It is traditionally a turned piece on a lathe. I have created my version of the Kokeshi doll and have listed her in my shop. She is approximately 3 and 3/4 inches tall with her head being 2 inches in diameter. I have also painted one to show what the possibilities are. Only the imagination is the limit. If interested, you can purchase one in my shop here.

The Force is Growing Strong!
As requested by my son, I have made a few more Star Wars inspired Whittles. From Left to Right is Yoda, Princess Leia, Darth Vader (with light saber - created from a Japanese toothpick), C3PO, and R2D2. Unfortunately, my lack of photography skills does not do these Whittles justice. I wish you could see the details of the 3D effects of the paint that I used, especially on C3PO; however, the light washes it out. I am currently working on a Storm Trooper, Luke, Han Solo, and Chewbacca. Once I create these, then I will move into more characters such as Obi Wan, Emperor, Jabba the Hutt, Jawas, and Ewoks. Then I can start moving into episodes 1, 2, and 3. Can you say, "ambitious?" Wish me luck!

Welcome!
Welcome to Whittle World News. This blog is designed to show new and upcoming whittles along with one of a kind pieces for gallery viewing. One of a kind pieces will not be offered up for sale in part mostly because they will be of famous characters that have copyrights attached. This is my way of showing the world what I like to create. Enjoy!
